We list the most powerful melee weapons in Fallout 4 and tell you about some special versions you might not have heard of.
You can get a lot of different kinds of ranged guns in Fallout 4, but melee weapons are some of the best. You can get a lot of different melee tools, and they are all useful in their own ways. However, they are not all the same.
It goes without saying that some weapons are stronger than others based on their stats and impacts alone. With the best melee weapons in the action RPG Fallout 4, you can play in the world after the end of the world.
Mr. Handy Buzz Blade

Damage | 5 |
---|---|
Weight | 10 |
Speed | Very Fast |
The Mr. Handy Buzz Blade is a lot like the Ripper, which is a different fighting weapon you can find in Fallout 4. Even though they look nothing alike and the Mr. Handy Buzz Blade is just the broken arm of a Mr. Handy robot, they are similar to use because they both have a moving blade that does damage by moving across an enemy’s hitbox.
In the Automatron DLC, you can get the Mr. Handy Buzz Blade from a chest at the end of the Fort Hagan Hangar. Rust Devils may also be carrying this type of weapon when they die, so it is potentially possible to get more than one.
Sword Of Wonders

Damage | 15 |
---|---|
Weight | 3 |
Speed | Medium |
The Sword of Wonders is a great thing. When it hits an enemy, it totally ignores 30% of their resistances. This famous effect is one of a kind, and the Sword of Wonders is one of the only weapons that can give you it.
At the end of the “A Magical Kingdom” quest, you get the “Sword of Wonders.” You can only get this sword this way. When you get the Sword of Wonders, you can either use it yourself or give it to a friend. Both options are good because they have powerful benefits.
Big Jim

Damage | 13 |
---|---|
Weight | 2 |
Speed | Medium |
One of the funniest things about Big Jim is that it’s not really a weapon at all. Instead, it’s a Pipe Wrench. But in Fallout 4, it can be used as a weapon, which is pretty interesting when you think about all the better weapons a survivor would use to protect themselves from Super Mutants and other scary wasteland animals.
Even though a Pipe Wrench might not seem like the best weapon, Big Jim is quite powerful because it gives you a 20% chance to break an enemy’s leg, which hurts them and makes the fight much easier for you and your allies. Big Jim is in the basement of the gift shop at Walden Pond.
Throatslicer
Damage | 20 |
---|---|
Weight | 2 |
Speed | Fast |
The Throatslicer is a bladed weapon in the Nuka-World DLC. When it hits its target, it causes 25 points of bleeding damage. The Throatslicer isn’t the best weapon in Fallout 4, but its legendary effect makes it very powerful.
You can get the Throatslicer at the Nuka-World Market by buying it from Katelyn. Since you can buy Throatslicer, it’s one of the easiest and most powerful melee tools to get your hands on.
Assaultron Blade

Damage | 17 |
---|---|
Weight | 3 |
Speed | Medium |
In the Automatron DLC, you can find the Assaulttron Blade at the end of the Fort Hagan Hangar. It’s not a very special weapon, except that it’s made from the blade of an Assaultron robot, which is what the name suggests.
But the Assaultron Blade really comes into its own when you add a tweak to make it electric. With this modification, it does more harm and is stronger overall. Follow the Automatron storyline and you’ll get the Assaulttron Blade. It’s a weapon you can get accidentally on your wasteland journey.
Super Sledge

Damage | 40 |
---|---|
Weight | 20 |
Speed | Slow |
The Super Sledge is one of the most powerful guns in the entire Fallout series. The only bad thing about the Super Sledge is that it takes a long time to swing the hammer.
Finding a special version of the Super Sledge called Adam’s Judgment on Dar Harbor while doing quests for the Children of Adam faction is the best way to use it. The Super Sledge does damage from radiation and is needed by any strong brutes.
Chinese Officer Sword

Damage | 16 |
---|---|
Weight | 3 |
Speed | Medium |
You can get the Chinese Officer Sword if you finish the quest “Here There Be Monsters.” It can also be found in other places in Fallout 4, but this task is one of the only set ways to get it without buying it from a vendor.
Even though Fallout 4 has a lot of different swords, the Chinese Officer Sword is very different in terms of how it looks. It’s a nice change of pace from the game’s other fighting weapons.
Shem Drowne Sword

Damage | 16 Base + 5 Radiation |
---|---|
Weight | 3 |
Speed | Medium |
The Revolutionary Sword has a special version called the Shem Drowne Sword. You can find the sword in Shem Drowne’s grave during the quest “The Gilded Grasshopper.”
Shem Drowne’s Sword also has a strong radiation effect, and it is one of the few physical weapons that can do radiation damage in general. The Shem Drowne Sword is a good choice if you want to use one of the most powerful fighting weapons in Fallout 4.
Pole Hook

Damage | 30 |
---|---|
Weight | 7 |
Speed | Slow |
The Pole Hook was added in the Far Harbor DLC and can be bought in town or by exploring the island. It’s common all over the island, so you shouldn’t have a hard time finding it no matter where you go.
The Pole Hook is one of the most powerful weapons in the Far Harbor update pack. It also has a unique nautical look that you won’t find in any other melee weapon in Tunnel Rush.
2076 World Series Baseball Bat

Damage | 16 |
---|---|
Weight | 3 |
Speed | Slow |
When you hit an enemy with the 2076 World Series Baseball Bat, you can forcibly throw them back. This is one of the most unique things you can do in Fallout 4. This effect might make you think of a shouting skill from another Bethesda game series.
Under Jamaica Plain, you can find the 2076 World Series Baseball Bat. If you bring it to Moe Cronin in Diamond City, you can trade it for Caps. The 2076 World Series Baseball Bat, on the other hand, is one of the most unique guns in Fallout 4, and few other weapons can do what it can.
Grognak’s Axe

Damage | 25 |
---|---|
Weight | 10 |
Speed | Medium |
Grognak’s Axe is the only axe in Fallout 4, and you can find it in the center of Boston at Hubris Comics. Grognak’s Axe has a very unique look, and in VATS, its special effect costs very few AP. The axe also does 25 base damage, which is a lot.
Grognak’s Axe is one of the few fighting weapons in Fallout 4 that is both strong and unique. If you ever go deep into Boston, you should add it to your collection.
Ripper

Damage | 4 |
---|---|
Weight | 6 |
Speed | Very Fast |
The Ripper is a strong tool that changes the way fighting works in every way. Instead of swinging and making one direct hit, the Ripper hits enemies multiple times in a row if you are close enough. Rippers are the most unique fighting weapons in Fallout 4 because of this effect.
In that way, The Ripper’s effect is like a knife. The Harvester is a rare Ripper that can be found in Far Harbor. It stuns enemies when it hits them.
Shishkebab

Damage | 13 Attack + 13 Energy |
---|---|
Weight | 3 |
Speed | Medium |
The most powerful sword in Fallout 4, the Shishkebab, can be found at Saugus Ironworks. The Shishebab has a unique, fiery look that is hard to find elsewhere in the game. It also has great stats.
It’s no surprise that the Shishkebab is the favorite weapon of so many Fallout 4 and Fallout series fans. It has a strong blade and a unique look.
Pickman’s Blade

Damage | 15 |
---|---|
Weight | 10 |
Speed | Fast |
The thing that makes Pickman’s Blade special is that it bleeds damage, which makes it much stronger than similar weapons. Most guns only do basic damage when they hit something, so adding bleed damage makes it an even better choice.
If you have a high strength stat, Pickman’s Blade will do a lot of damage and is great for any thief or assassin. Pickman’s Blade can be found in Pickman’s Stash, which you can loot.
Kremvh’s Tooth

Damage | 28 Base + 3 Poison |
---|---|
Weight | 2 |
Speed | Medium |
The way you get Kremvh’s Tooth and how powerful it is make it the most unique weapon in Fallout 4. Kemvh’s Tooth does normal damage as well as poison damage when it hits something.
